first_img Share Share 193 Views   no discussions LocalNews Dubique resident dead following road traffic accident by: Dominica Vibes News – February 4, 2015 Angelica Anselm, 64, of Dubique has died as a result of a road traffic accident in that village, the police public relations officer superintendent Claude Weekes has reported.The accident occurred on Tuesday 3 February, 2015 about midday along the Dubique Stowe Public Road, the second road fatality for 2015.“She was walking along the left side of the road while the motorcycle which was ridden by a police constable Kenny Thomas GA 537 and while he was approaching in the same area that the lady was walking, she seemed to have veered off from the left side and then the collision took place,” Mr Weekes said.She sustained very serious injuries including the head, the leg, she sustained very serious wounds about the body and she was taken to the Grand Bay Health Facility and then referred to or transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital where the medical staff there headed by Dr Marie worked feverishly on her.Mr Weekes informed that Ms Anselm “succumbed to her injuries somewhere about 2:05PM where she was officially pronounced dead by Dr Marie” and constable Thomas “also suffered minor injuries”.A post mortem and coroner’s inquest are to be performed as police investigations into this road fatality continue.“It is indeed very unfortunate, very sad situation for both sides; the Police Force as well as the constable but more so the entire communities of Dubique, Stowe and Grand Bay,” Mr Weekes said.He condoled with the family, relatives and friends of Ms Anselm on behalf of the Chief of Police and the entire Police Force.“We really regret this has happened, it is an accident but never the less a life has gone, a life was taken and from all reports, Angela was a warm person,” Mr Weekes said.center_img Tweet Share Sharing is caring!last_img
